There’s always something to work on, even if the client is yourself.

cookie & cream

This is my short film cookie & cream, developed during my time at university.

The stop-motion aesthetic was mostly born out of time and technical constraints, having only one month to create the entire thing with sub-par computers in the lab. The materials were relatively quick to make, and being stop-motion at 12 frames per second cut the render time in half.

This allowed me to focus on the world-building, modeling and animation.

It later placed as semi-finalist at the 2021 Luleå International Film Festival.

stop-motion exploration

After my short film, I wanted to further explore recreating the stop-motion style in 3D animation.

These exploratory works focus heavily on the details and imperfections of stop-motion, something I didn’t have time to properly work on in Cookie & Cream.

A challenge here is to represent these imperfections between frames, simulating how the slight thumbprints vary from frame to frame and giving the animation that raw and jagged look.

journey

Taking the experience from my previous explorations of stop-motion, I wanted to combine it all into yet another short film.

This project is a light-hearted story about an office worker working from home, getting lost in the woods during his lunch break walk and discovering the beauty of nature.

This project is far from finished, and I work on it whenever I have the chance. I update this page whenever I make progress, so check back later if you’re curious!
